Pottery Open Studio is dedicated time in our ceramics studio for you to explore, practice, and refine your work at your own pace
You’ll have access to wheels, tools, and communal resources in a supportive setting that reflects the Sumter County Gallery of Art’s mission to present and promote visual arts for all.
Open Studio is ideal for current or returning students who want extra time at the wheel or table, and makers building personal projects
The Pottery Studio supports the mission of the Sumter County Gallery of Art by providing accessible opportunities for artistic learning, creative expression, and community engagement through ceramics.
Independent studio use is available only to individuals who have successfully completed a SCGA pottery class, or the required Studio Orientation.
Before accessing open pottery studio, participants must first attend a studio orientation tour to learn studio expectations and processes. Orientations are offered Fridays at noon. If you are unable to attend during that time, you can schedule a tour by emailing education@sumtergallery.com.
Please note: Children 14 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

Friday & Saturday
11:00 a.m.–9:00 p.m.
Front entrance access:
11:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
Rear entrance access:
5:00 p.m.–8:30 p.m.
No entry after 8:30 p.m.
